MISSION OVERVIEW

About the mission

The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope is a NASA astrophysics observatory designed to conduct extremely wide and deep surveys of the universe. Roman will have a field of view at least 100 times larger than Hubble while maintaining comparable image sharpness.

OBJECTIVES

What is it trying to achieve?

01Investigate dark energy and cosmic expansion.
02Study dark matter through gravitational lensing.
03Conduct a statistical census of exoplanets.
04Directly image selected exoplanets and planetary systems.
05Survey enormous areas of the infrared sky.
